#betheonlyone

This statement was said to me in a group full of ladies. Women who see me in ways I may never know. These women are women I look up to, and grow with, and cry with, but this woman. She can see into my soul, there are a hand full of people who can do that. The kind of glance that makes you scared because you aren’t really sure who they are looking at but you think “its definitely not me.”

She said “be the only one,” she was referencing what she says to her kids. I love that she’s teaching her kids this young because for me at 30 it shook me. We are not meant to be islands but every community needs only one you. Only you can dream the way you do which compliments and entangles with other peoples dreams and abilities to grow that dream, which then creates possibility and eventually produces reality which inevitably becomes community.

Be open to the possibility that you are worthy of being the only you. That you were put here to do something you may not be ready for (yet).
